Florida Certified Claims Adjuster Licensing Course
Florida’s “Certified Claims Adjuster” (CCA) designation licensing program is offered by AE21 Online pursuant to the authority of Florida Statute §626.221 and with the approval of the Florida Department of Financial Services. This online licensing program is the finest and most comprehensive licensing programs available anywhere in the United States for reinforced-learning and application of all lines of insurance and claims adjusting.
Completion of this designation program also allows a prospective licensee to waive the Florida Adjuster Examination and secure a Florida All Lines Adjuster license.
The program is comprised of six (6) sections:
- Introduction to Claims and Principles of Insurance
- Casualty Adjusting
- Property Adjusting
- Automobile Physical Damage Adjusting
- Residual Markets, Health, Adjuster Conduct, and Selected Statutes & Rules
- Case Studies for Real Life All Lines Claims Adjusting
- Final Exam
Each section offers a sequential, building-block approach to adjuster training that explains insurance principles, identifies factual scenarios with legal and contractual claim exposures, and concludes with best practice applications of claims analysis and adjustment.
Throughout the course, interactive quizzes gauge understanding and retention and refer the student back to parts not fully understood. After completion of each section the student is required to successfully pass a comprehensive exam of that area of study. After all five sections are completed, the student must pass a comprehensive, application-based “case study”, simulating real life claims handling. The student will then be presented with a 100-question closed-book final exam. After passing the final exam, the student will receive a Letter of Designation by email from AE21 Online to submit to Florida’s Department of Financial Services in exchange for a Florida All Lines Adjuster license. It’s as simple as that!

All adjusters of every kind and type must be licensed.
No. There is only one type of license: an All Lines Adjuster License. This is known as a "6-20" license for Florida resident adjusters or a "7-20" for non-resident adjusters. *Note: For Public Adjusters, there is a Public Adjuster License (3-20 license). However, one seeking licensure as a Public Adjuster must FIRST be licensed as an 620 or 720 All Lines Adjuster for 6 months prior to testing to become a Public Adjuster.
Yes, unless you secure your adjuster’s license by “Designation”. The Certified Claims Adjuster Designation, which you will receive upon successful completion of this course, is one of these "Designations". For more information on designations, click here: Designations
Quite possibly. If you have a valid company or independent adjuster license with Florida, you qualify for an equal or lesser license without examination. Nonresident adjusters may be exempt from the examination, please review the adjuster reciprocal list.
This list can be found here: Reciprocating States.
*Note: If you want to switch from a resident company or independent adjuster license to a Public Adjuster license, you will be required to take the public adjuster examination per Florida Statue 626.221.
Reciprocity refers to a mutual agreement between states whereby an adjuster holding a license in one state can successfully apply for a license in another state and vice-versa. This is important to adjusters because it means that in many cases you can apply for a license in another state without having to first pass that state's exam or pre-licensing course, a benefit that can mean significant savings in time and money.
Click here for the official list as reflected on the Florida Department of Financial Services website: Florida Reciprocating States
Licenses will expire if more than 48 months elapse without an appointment. Failure to complete continuing education may result in cancellation of such appointment(s).
The status of adjuster applications and licenses can be checked by visiting the DFS "MyProfile" page.
A current listing of the state's application and fingerprinting fees, can be found HERE

First let me congratulate you on your online course AE21. I took the course as an opportunity to teach a young man and introduce him to our wonderful profession. I found your online course to be both challenging and informative. I was pleasantly surprised to find the sections on ethics and how well you spoke to those issues and how critical they are to our industry going forward. I had the opportunity to speak with April on your staff and found her to be knowledgeable, friendly, and professional and an absolute pleasure to work with.
I would not hesitate to recommend this course to any individual or company looking for a great online course.
Again my sincere thanks and I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed taking this course.
This was an awesome training experience. Thank you to everyone at AE21!!!!
Thank you for your help! Your course is well done and I would highly recommend it.
This was one of the best courses I have ever taken. I see no reason why every adjuster should not have their all-lines license, and they should use this course to obtain same. If I had been able to obtain my all-lines license in the past with this convenience, I would have and it sure would have changed my career path and where I am today. Thanks again… I love the AE21 Online courses. They are awesome.
I thought it was a great course. A nice refresher in some areas, and I learned some new stuff in others. The layout makes you go through it…. you can’t really just jump to the tests, which is good.
Overall the useability of this course and its content is quite good. I enjoyed taking this course, finding it both interesting and challenging and I look forward to using the information that I have learned. I would recommend this course to anyone that was interested in acquiring a Florida adjuster designation.
The system was easy to navigate and I truly appreciated that the system would “remember” where you were when you logged out for a break or for the day!! Fantastic delivery of material. Easy to use and the course material was interesting, pertinent and logical. I had previously worked as an adjuster and I actually learned new and useful material. The periodic Quizzes and the section Tests helped to reinforce the material. By the time I got to the final exam I felt prepared and was able to recall the material easily. This is one of the best designed courses that I’ve taken in years. Great educational value for the investment. Thank you.
