Building Block Approach

We designed this course with a building-block approach that begins by laying a solid foundation of adjusting principles and practices. We then build on that foundation with a more in-depth study of the various risks and exposures that are covered by the most common insurance policies. The course concludes with a practical application of coverage analysis and claims adjustment.

We broke the material up into 5 major sections, and each section contains multiple lessons.

Section 1 lays the foundation with an Introduction to Claims Adjusting. You will learn the basic principles of insurance and the adjusting practice and a high-level overview of the basic tenets of liability and property claims.

Section 2 dives deeper into the various types of liability and casualty policies, including Automobile Liability, Personal Injury Protection, General Liability and Workers’ Compensation.

Section 3 explores various property insurance policies, including homeowners and commercial property insurance, inland and ocean marine and farm and flood insurance.

Section 4 is much shorter than the first three and focuses on automobile physical damage claims handling and mechanical breakdown coverage.

Section 5 touches briefly on residual markets and some important reminders about market practices and adjuster conduct.

Knowledge Checks and Section Exams

Throughout the course you will be presented with interactive quizzes or “Knowledge Checks” to help gauge your understanding of the material that was just covered and each of the 5 major sections concludes with a section exam, all of which are designed to prepare you for the course’s final exam.These knowledge checks and section exams are an integral part of our reinforced learning process, providing you bite-sized pieces of information and ensuring that you understand the concepts before moving on.

Final Exam

 

The course concludes with a final exam containing 150 multiple-choice questions. When you pass the exam, you are then able to apply for your Texas All-Lines Adjuster’s License without sitting for the state exam.
